Speaking of the company's involvement, Peter Richards, Gulftainer Director and General Manager said: "We are happy to be involved with such an important event which will see disabled athletes from the Middle East, compete in what in all respects is an International competition similar to other major events world wide. Our sponsorship of this unique sporting event is an example of the commitment Gulftainer has to Sharjah and the UAE, in helping those in the community who may have not had the same opportunities as other athletes." The championship was considered the first of its kind regionally and was the largest handicapped athletics event to be ever held in the UAE. The games were being conducted under the supervision of the International committee for the handicapped and the Federation of West Asia and were , without doubt, an outstanding success for all concerned. |
