Momentum Logistics Celebrates 10th Anniversary

• Specialised 3PL leader eyes accelerated global expansion, aims to double its revenue over next five years

Sharjah-UAE: 24 April 2019 - Momentum Logistics marked 10 years of operations as a leading third-party logistics (3PL) services provider based in the UAE with a presence across global markets.

A subsidiary of Gulftainer, the world’s largest privately owned independent port operator based in the UAE, Momentum Logistics offers an integrated suite of supply chain management solutions including transportation, freight forwarding, warehousing, logistics cities and container services. The company has over 500 clients that benefit from its customer-centric approach, outstanding service and competitive pricing.

Speaking on the milestone, Stuart Mainland, General Manager of Momentum Logistics, said: “We consistently look for new ways to enhance our operational efficiency in anticipation of new opportunities for growth around the world. Momentum Logistics was established in December 2008 to support Gulftainer’s terminal operations. Since its inception, the company has expanded its scope and secured independent logistics contracts around the world, including in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the US, Iraq, Turkey and Pakistan. With operational headquarters located at the Sharjah Inland Container Depot (SICD), Momentum also operates in Port Canaveral in the US state of Florida as part of Gulftainer’s global portfolio.

The company has continued to invest heavily in organic growth as well as global expansion. In the past year, it introduced new Scania tractor units and the latest European-standard curtain-sided trailers in a bid to enhance its transport fleet. The new equipment enables Momentum Logistics to maintain the high quality of its services that are witnessing increasing demand across its multinational client base. In addition, the company works tirelessly to prevent accidents and ill health among its employees – an accomplishment that earned it the Silver Award for Fleet Safety at the UK’s prestigious Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Awards in 2018.

Momentum Logistics has also continued to expand operations in international markets, including at the Umm Qasr Logistics Centre in Iraq, where the company now offers storage solutions for both chilled and frozen products. In addition, Momentum provides services through its container inspection and repair division, Gulftainer Container Repairs (GCR), across Gulftainer-run terminals in Umm Qasr in Iraq and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

The company is currently working on developing the Saja’a Industrial Investment Park (SSIP), Gulftainer’s first leasehold initiative, with Port Khalid, Hamriyah Port, KhorFakkan Port through a multimillion-dirham investment in building the Saja’a Permanent Access Road, a highway that will connect the facility in Saja’a with the rest of the UAE’s road network. Since its soft launch, the SIIP has attracted considerable interest, with warehouses expected to be fully occupied by Momentum and other customers.
