Saudi Arabia - Jeddah – Northern Container Terminal
The Northern Container Terminal (NCT) is the largest container terminal at the Jeddah Islamic Port, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The terminal was commissioned in 2001 and now it is the largest container handling terminal within the entire Red Sea region. The terminal is fully equipped to handle large volumes of container traffic with a container handling capacity of 3.0 Million teu. It is ideally placed to serve local market of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is also the best transhipment hub on the Red Sea.
NCT is spread across an area of around 1.1 Millon sq meters has 7 operating berths spread over a quay length of 1,700 m with maximum operating alongside draft of 15m. The terminal is equipped with the state of the art IT system and support infrastructure which have assisted in continuously improving its productivity levels. The terminal also follows several innovative operational techniques which include the twin lift, tandem lift and dual cycle operations, which are aimed to improve the average crane, berth and yard productivity levels.

Working HoursThe Terminal operates 24 hours a day, every day throughout the year except for Holidays.
Normal working hours are from Saturday to Thursday (excluding Fridays and Public Holidays) in two shifts from 06:00 hours to 1400 hours and from 14:00 hours to 22:00 hours. (The normal working hours will reduce during the Holy Month of Ramadan as per local customs and traditions)
