Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, 06 February 2026: Gulftainer (GT), a global trusted leader in integrated maritime and logistics solutions, has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PTL Holding Company Limited to explore collaboration opportunities in operating major dry ports in Laos.
In the presence of H.E. Saleumxay Kommasith, Deputy Prime Minister of Laos and H.E. Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the MoU was signed by Gulftainer’s Group CEO, Farid Belbouab and Dr. Chanthone Sitthixay, Chairman and CEO of PTL Holding Co. Ltd, during a signing ceremony attended by H.E. Santiphab Phomvihane, Minister of MOF, H.E. Santisouk Simmalavong, Minister of MOIT, H.E. Maithong Thammavongsa, Vice Minister of MOFA, H.E. Chanthaboun Soukaloun, Vice Minister of MOIC, and Dr. Vanthana Nolintha, Director General of the Investment Promotion and Management Committee Office (IPMC).
The MoU aims to leverage Gulftainer’s expertise in ports and logistics operations to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of PTL Holding Co. Ltd. dry ports in the Lao PDR, optimize the country’s investment in Vung Ang Port, co-develop logistics corridors and intermodal solutions to further enhance the country’s trade connectivity for seamless cargo flow to regional and global markets.

Farid Belbouab, Group CEO of Gulftainer (GT) said: “This step aligns with our strategy to expand our presence in Southeast Asia and supports the growth of regional trade. This high-level ceremony took place on the sidelines of Sharjah – Laos Roundtable Meeting at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry headquarters, which marks an important step toward expanding cross-border cooperation, supporting sustainable economic growth between the two countries.
